Comments from the show at the Blue Note
(Manitou Springs CO) on 25 Nov 1998:
I never dreamt I could enjoy this band more than in previous shows - yet
that's exactly what's happened..............It's amazing just how clean,
fast, professional, and flat out SWEET this is!!!!! The guys broke out Coulda
Been My Baby (oldie - but goodie!!!!!) which I don't recall having heard live
before.........and the new tunes, The Day That She Left Town, and Never Stop
Loving You (?)......are just BEAUTIFUL ballads......Throw into the mix some
of the old favorites (Driver, Too Damn Cold, Hard World, Packin Her Bags) and
the ever-smokin Little Wing/Machine Gun.............(and pay special attention
on this one - you never know if you're gonna get a little surf, or Inna Godda
Da Vida) to my still-fave 32 Degrees (STILL dig that S-L-I-D-E)..........and
folks you have one HELLUVA great live show!!!!!!!! The new CD is going to be
incredible..........can't wait for that one to come out! These guys are not
only tremendous musicians, but some of the nicest guys on the
planet.........You Floridians are lucky to be welcoming back your home-town
heroes....thanks for sharing em with the west for a while (and send em back
ANY TIME!!!!!!)

The Bank & Blues Club in Daytona Beach Fla. , Oct 31,1998 ,along with
all of the costumed Halloween characters ,received its prodigal son and his
band back with open arms. He responded in turn with some incredible blues and
red hot guitar .Josh did a sixteen minute version of Machine Gun to close the
first set that included his walk around the floor ,up the stairs ...back down
and out the back door and a stroole down the side walk past the building,
visible to the audience thru the windows and in the front door ,back across
the floor to the stage ....still working the room....and finished up on stage
bringing the audience to its feet .Need I say more ....well there was those
two other sets.....but you get the picture. They are headed North and West so
check the schedule and don't miss them when they come your way.

My husband and daughter took me over to Melbourne, FL. This weekend for a
birthday trip to see this band. We ran the gamut on age in our music this
weekend as we saw B B King Friday night, Tinsley Ellis.. and then..Josh,the
eighteen year old who doesn't want his age to be a factor in his music.
However all variables come into play in any equation and need to be
considered. In this case they add up to a performer who gives 110 % of
himself to his music and his audience. To the old school blues traditionalist
who are having a hard time giving the young guys a break, I say their youth
works for them. It allows them to tap into the creative forces of the music
and carry the lessons of the Masters on and combine them into their own
style. Josh Smith has developed his own style and has carried the music to a
new level to be reckoned with. His music is powerful, forceful and yet one of
his new "ballads" washes over you with its beautiful melody. Simply
put he moves an audience with his music and isn't that what it is all about ?
Well once again we saw josh smith & the Frost. On Saturday 9/19 we went
to Melbourne, Fl to a very nice venue,The Sebastian Beach Inn. it was again
an incredible music experience...he presented new material that for lack of
vocabulary...will blow your socks off !!!!! In addition to the air
conditioning being broken Joshs guitar ignited the stage and threw out heat
waves. He and Tony did some vocals together that complemented each other very
well. For the encore josh did The Star Spangled Banner and really brought the
crowd to its feet. Once again just wait until you hear the new
songs......Thanks guys.

I saw Josh Smith and The Frost with my mother and a friend on September
1st in Syracuse, N.Y. I had heard good things about his shows [ Thanks
Sass=)] and I was sure I wouldn't be disappointed. I already knew Josh had
talent from listening to his CDs, so I was looking forward to seeing how he
did live. I won't give you the long report, because I could go on for awhile,
so I'll shorten my review by saying he was excellent. I was seriously
impressed, and it takes a lot for that to happen=) I hope he comes to NY a
lot more often, because I am looking forward to seeing him again soon. My
mother [also known as the big blues expert around here] really enjoyed him as
well. I don't think Josh got the crowd he deserved, but the people who were
lucky enough to catch the show were totally into him. We all had a great
night!

My husband and I saw Josh Smith & The Frost Aug 13th in Sarasota, fla.we
went on the high praise and recommendation of a former associate and friend
of the band and Sassie our "cyber friend "who both have nothing but
wonderful things to say about this young man and his band .they were right
!!!! A live show does this young mans playing much more justice than
recordings ever could . I could say all the usual things...he is fast...creative..plays
strong and clean...but all that comes out is ...wow!!!! Go see them and show
support to the musical talent that he has and is sharing with us. I will do
anything i can to help pack in the house next time they come to Sarasota. My
friends will probably go just to shut me up! Thanks Josh and guys and thanks
for being such a nice guy when we spoke.

2 FABULOUS shows last weekend in Denver........The old favorites sound
better than ever (32 DEGREES, Machine Gun my personal live faves) and the new
tunes are just great - the as-yet-unnamed ballad is a "tingler".
Thanks for keeping Brendans on your tour-list guys.........You definitely
made some new fans that
weekend.......(one "skeptic" sitting behind me, who was moaning and
rather unpleasant before the show, was the first one at the stand to purchase
CDs at the first break). If you haven't seen Josh & The Frost
live...........WHAT YOU WAITING FOR?

WOW!!! I'm sorry that we didn't have a crowd here last night like you deserve
but those of us who were there appreciate the sounds and talent we heard! I'm
a 30year guitar player and was so impressed with Josh's exceptional talent
that I can see any dreams he has ,will come true. From the music and the song
writing, Josh comes on like a locomotive at you and the bass and drums were
flawless! Hope to see you again and will "bookmark" this site to
keep up with the progress Josh makes....From a true admirer in Salina, Ks.
Keep it up!!!!!!

Greetings from Pennsylvania. You forgot us on your tour. No Stanhope
House? BooHoo! We miss you here, in the northeast. Hurry back!
#1 fan - Linda .....P.S. New York City could use some "Frost" too.
